Ottawa Flowers has been arranging and delivering from our shop on Thurston Drive since 1998, which means we've had almost three decades to learn the fastest routes, the trickiest condo buildings, and the best times to beat traffic in every neighbourhood from Kanata to Orleans.
What Does Delivery Actually Cost?
Before we get into neighbourhoods, here's the part everyone wants to know first:
- Free local delivery on online orders of $100 or more, for any address within 30km of our shop.
- Long-distance delivery for addresses between 30km and 60km away is a flat $35.00.
Most of Ottawa's core and inner suburbs — downtown, the Glebe, Centretown, Alta Vista, Nepean, and Gloucester — fall comfortably inside that free 30km zone. It's the outer edges of the city and beyond — think Manotick, Carleton Place, and parts of rural Gatineau — where the 30–60km long-distance rate is more likely to apply. Kanata, Barrhaven, and Orleans generally sit close to that 30km line, so the fee can depend on the exact address.
Because the cutoff is measured precisely, not by neighbourhood name, the most reliable way to see your exact delivery cost is to enter the recipient's address or postal code at checkout — the applicable fee (or free delivery, if the order qualifies) will show up automatically before you pay.
Downtown Ottawa & ByWard Market
Downtown deliveries — Parliament Hill, the ByWard Market, Centretown, Sandy Hill — are some of our quickest, since they're closest to our delivery routes. Office towers and government buildings are a big part of our daily volume here, so if you're sending congratulations or sympathy flowers to a workplace, let us know the company name and floor; reception desks in this area handle a high volume of deliveries and it helps things move faster.
Good to know: Many downtown condos and office buildings require a call-up from a lobby phone or concierge. If you know your recipient's unit has a concierge, mention it in your order notes.
The Glebe & Old Ottawa South
The Glebe's tree-lined streets and character homes make it one of our favourite areas to deliver to — and one of the most popular for anniversary and "just because" bouquets. Old Ottawa South and Old Ottawa East follow the same rhythm: mostly houses and low-rise walk-ups, easy access, and a strong community feel that seems to invite the kind of thoughtful, unannounced flower delivery that makes someone's whole week.
Centretown & Alta Vista
Alta Vista's mix of hospitals (including CHEO and the General campus) means we deliver a steady stream of get-well and new-baby flowers here. If you're sending flowers to a hospital, include the patient's full name and room number if you have it, and consider a compact arrangement — hospital rooms have limited surface space, so a smaller dish garden or bud vase is often more practical than a large arrangement.
Kanata & Stittsville
Kanata is one of our most requested suburban delivery zones, especially for tech-sector offices and family homes in neighbourhoods like Katimavik, Beaverbrook, and Bridlewood. Stittsville, just beyond it, is equally well served. Because it's a bit further from the shop, we recommend ordering by late morning if you need something delivered the same day — this gives our drivers time to route Kanata and Stittsville deliveries efficiently alongside the rest of the day's schedule.
Most Kanata addresses fall within our free 30km delivery zone on orders of $100+, though addresses at the far western edge of Kanata or in Stittsville can sometimes tip into the 30–60km range. Enter your postal code at checkout to see the exact delivery cost before you order.
Barrhaven & Riverside South
Barrhaven has grown into one of Ottawa's largest residential communities, and our delivery volume there has grown right along with it. Riverside South, just to the east, is on the same route. Both areas are almost entirely single-family homes and townhouses, which actually makes deliveries quite fast once a driver is in the neighbourhood — the challenge is simply timing, since Barrhaven is one of the longer drives from our shop. Same-day orders placed before our cutoff time are still very achievable.
Barrhaven generally sits within the free 30km delivery radius for orders of $100+, with Riverside South and the southernmost pockets of Barrhaven occasionally falling just past that line into the $35 long-distance rate. As always, checkout will confirm the exact fee for your address.
Nepean & Craig Henry
Nepean covers a lot of ground, and we deliver across all of it — from Merivale Road businesses to the residential streets around Craig Henry and Bells Corners. This is a mixed commercial-and-residential zone, so if your delivery is to an office, a suite or unit number saves real time.
Gloucester, Orleans & Cumberland
The east end — Gloucester, Orleans, and Cumberland — is a well-established part of our delivery territory, home to a large French-speaking community and some of Ottawa's newest subdivisions. If you'd like your card message written in French, just let us know when you order; our design team handles both languages regularly.
Gloucester is comfortably within the free 30km zone on qualifying orders. Orleans and Cumberland stretch further east and can fall either side of that 30km line depending on the exact street, so it's worth checking the delivery cost at checkout — Cumberland in particular is more likely to see the $35 long-distance rate.
Further East: Rockland, Casselman, Embrun, Russell & Navan
Beyond Cumberland, our delivery area continues out along Highway 174 and Highway 417 into the smaller communities east of Ottawa — Clarence-Rockland, Casselman, Embrun, Russell, Navan, and Vars. These towns typically sit in the 30–60km range from our shop, so the $35.00 long-distance delivery fee generally applies here rather than free delivery, even on larger orders. We're still happy to deliver same-day when orders come in with enough notice, so if you have a specific date in mind — a funeral, a birthday, an anniversary — placing the order earlier in the day gives our drivers the best shot at fitting it into the route.

Manotick & Carleton Place
For customers further outside the core, we still deliver to Manotick and Carleton Place, though these rural and semi-rural routes typically need to be scheduled a little earlier in the day. Both are typically far enough from our shop to fall into the 30–60km long-distance zone, so expect the $35.00 delivery fee to apply here rather than free delivery, even on larger orders. If you're ordering for one of these areas and the occasion is time-sensitive (a funeral service, for example), calling us directly at (613) 737-5555 is the fastest way to confirm timing.
Gatineau & Across the River
Being an Ottawa florist doesn't mean we stop at the river. We regularly deliver into Gatineau, Hull, and Aylmer, and our design team is fully bilingual, so cards, condolence messages, and special requests are handled in French or English without any back-and-forth.
How to Make Sure Your Delivery Goes Smoothly, Wherever You Are
A few small details make a big difference no matter which neighbourhood you're sending to:
- Unit or suite numbers for condos and apartment buildings save real delivery time.
- A daytime phone number for the recipient lets our driver call ahead if a building is locked or a business is hard to find.
- Delivery instructions like "leave with neighbour if not home" or "front desk only" help on the first attempt.
- Same-day cutoff times vary by neighbourhood and by how far the address is from our Thurston Drive shop — downtown, Centretown, and the Glebe generally have the latest cutoffs, while Manotick, Carleton Place, and rural routes need earlier notice.
- Order total matters for delivery cost. Free delivery applies to online orders of $100+ within 30km; orders under $100, or any address between 30km and 60km away, will show a $35.00 long-distance delivery charge at checkout.

If your address isn't mentioned above, chances are we still deliver there — Ottawa Flowers covers Ottawa, Gatineau, and the surrounding region, including areas like Rideau, Kemptville, Almonte, Rockland, Casselman, Embrun, and Russell on a scheduled basis. Addresses beyond 60km — past Hawkesbury to the east, for example — fall outside our standard delivery area, so if you're near that outer edge, it's worth a quick call to confirm.
